HISTORY OF LUXBAR
Luxbar opened its doors to Chicago’s Gold Coast Neighborhood in 2005 as the quintessential neighborhood bar. This checkerboard-floored restaurant serves classic, handcrafted cocktails to complement the kitchen’s all-American feel-good food.
The menu makes use of fresh, natural ingredients, thoughtfully sourced from local farmers, expertly prepared and professionally served. The restaurant proudly offers USDA Gibsons Prime Angus beef, which is breed specific, Black Angus, and raised on sustainable farms in the Upper Midwest. LUXBAR was named one of the “Great Bourbon Bars of America” in 2014.
LUXBAR was inspired by the work of legendary architect Adolf Loos, whose “American Bar” was designed and built in Vienna, in the early twentieth century. LUXBAR’s design is meant to capture the essence of elegance in simplicity – This same philosophy is imparted on the its menu with fresh, easy to understand, and delicious food being the primary focus.
The dedicated LUXBAR staff upholds an unmatched customer service philosophy that only Gibsons Restaurant Group can achieve.
